How the funds have been spent

We believe the people who support Justice for Her should be able to see the difference their contribution makes. Here, we share how funds raised are being used to remove practical barriers to safety, justice and stability. These stories also make the gaps visible: the essential evidence, basic needs and timely support that existing systems do not always cover.

  • The impact

    Justice for Her funds were used to support a client obtaining a report from a clinical psychologist to show the ongoing impact family violence has had on the mother and children. This is a matter where the mother has the primary care of the children and the other party has supervised time.

    Why this funding was needed

    If Justice for her funds were not able to be used, this client would not have been able to afford to obtain the report which she needs to ensure safety and protection for her and the children. 

  • The impact

    Justice for Her funds were used to provide the client with four $250 Woolworths vouchers for essential food and groceries after family violence and the loss of her employment left her experiencing significant financial hardship. With most of her Centrelink income being used to cover rent, this short-term support provided immediate stability while the client focused on her recovery, attended appointments and worked towards securing employment and rebuilding her financial independence. 

    Why this funding was needed

    If Justice for Her funds were not available, the client would have continued to face difficulty meeting her basic food needs, increasing her financial and emotional stress and limiting her capacity to focus on recovery and employment.
